Let`s start with the process

1. Prep the Tofu

  • Press the tofu for 10-15 minutes (wrap in a towel and place a heavy pan on top).

  • Cut into 1-inch cubes and toss in a bowl with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp sesame oil, and 1 tbsp cornstarch until evenly coated.

2. Cook the Tofu

  • Heat a large non-stick pan or wok over medium-high heat.

  • Add the tofu in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.

3. Stir-Fry the Veggies

  • In the same pan, heat 1 tbsp sesame oil over medium heat.

  • Add garlic & ginger, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Toss in bell peppers, broccoli, and snap peas. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.

4. Make the Sauce

  • Pour in 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp hoisin, 1 tsp rice vinegar, and 1 tsp maple syrup. Stir well.

  • If too thick, add 1-2 tbsp water to loosen.

5. Combine & Serve

  • Return the crispy tofu to the pan and toss everything together.

  • Taste and adjust seasoning (add more soy sauce or a pinch of salt if needed).

  • Serve hot over rice, garnished with sesame seeds & green onions.
